‘Salaam Mumbai’ ranks first at Iran’s box office, movie distributors says.

Iran and India joint cinematic project ‘Salaam Mumbai’ still dominates Iran’s box office, movie distributors in the country says.

According to Iran film distributors, the indo-Iranian blockbuster has racked in over 120 billion rials as of Thursday, January 19 with the FilmIran CEO saying that the movie is being screening at 93 cinemas across Iran.

Filmiran is the premier distributor in Iranian cinema which has been founded in 2004 by adjoining 4 private companies and institutes.

Having a placing among current films in Iranian cinemas, ‘7-Month Old’ by Hatef Ali Mardani sold 200 million rials.

‘Four Isfahanees in Baghdad’ directed by Mohammad Reza Momtaz, also drew over 6 billion rials in Iran domestic sales.

Meanwhile, ‘Red Nail Polish’ by Seyyed Jamal Seyyed Hatami gained 1.3 billion rials.

‘Inversion’, ‘Giti’s Problem’ and ‘Gita’ sold at least over 5 bilion rials. This is while 'A House on 41st Street' grabbed over 2 billion rials in the first 9 days of its screening in Iranian cinemas.
